27 Ferrets Found At CMR Refuge
Spring 2001


A spring survey at the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge in north-central Montana revealed 27 endangered black-footed ferrets

An additional five ferrets were found at the nearby Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, another reintroduction.

The national recovery goal is to establish 10 separate, self-sustaining populations with a total number of 1,500 ferrets by 2010.
