Ferret peaking out of his hole.

KIDS!
You can make your own prairie dog puppet "pop up" out of his burrow
(no doubt to keep a lookout for any hungry black-footed ferrets!)
Here's what you'll need:
  • an empty round container ("Pounce" cat treat containers work great!)
  • a wooden craft stick or popsicle stick
  • a small clump of "Easter grass" or dried floral moss
  • scissors
  • glue
  • markers or crayons
  • an X-acto knife (have an adult help with this!)

Instructions:
  • Print the prairie dog image, color and cut it out.
  • glue your prairie dog to the craft stick
  • have an adult cut a small opening in the bottom of the container, just big enough for the craft stick to fit through.
  • glue "grass" inside the top of your prairie dog "burrow".
  • slip the craft stick through the opening and your prairie dog puppet is ready to use!

(Thanks to Betty Little for this craft idea!)
